What is EIS and OIS??

EIS and OIS are the terms related to smartphones cameras or only for Digital Cameras. EIS means Electronic Image stabilization and OIS means Optical Image Stabilization. Both the terms are some what differ from each other. When we record any Video through our phone the if our phone has OIS or EIS then the video is not much shaky. Means that our hand is moving every time and for controlling the shaking movements of our hand in video the OIS and EIS are made. Some phones are not having this sensors so their recorded videos are shaky. This concepts are used using gyroscope sensor or accolerometer sensor.

In OIS there are some connected plates that move while we record videos. When any shaky movements are occur or if your phone moves slightly towards left side then the plates move towards right side and stop or decrease the level of shaking. In OIS there is an Optical sensor or dedicated sensor for performing this activity, and OIS recorded videos are more stable than EIS.

The devices with OIS are expensive so the new concept brought is EIS. In EIS all the video stabilization process is done using phones software. If in the video the video is recorded with very shaky movement then EIS crop some areas of the opposite of the shaky area and the video we get is somewhat crop and with stable.

OIS is better than EIS because in OIS the image is not croped and the dedicated sensors work for stabilization but in EIS the image get croped and then stabilized. But this concepts are very good and are a game changer in cameras.

You can get more information about EIS and OIS on YouTube by watching videos if it.
